Privacy Policy
DoubleCheck is made by Avenue Labs. This policy explains what the app does with your information, and the honest answer is: not much. Everything you check stays on your phone. The only things that leave it are what Apple and our subscription provider need to run your subscription, and, only if you say yes, an advertising identifier used to measure our ads.
The short version. No account. Your photos, videos, items, rooms, routines and check times never leave your phone. Apple bills the subscription. RevenueCat checks that it is active. If you allow tracking, an advertising identifier goes to Meta so we know which ad brought you here. Nothing else.
No account
There is no sign-up. DoubleCheck never asks for your name, email address, phone number or a password, and we don’t collect them.
Your camera and your checks
The camera opens only when you tap to check something. Each check is saved as a photo or a short video in DoubleCheck’s own storage on your phone, filed under the item with the time. We never upload it. The app has no server of its own and sends nothing anywhere.
When you photograph something new, the app suggests a name for it and remembers what it looks like so it can recognise it next time. That uses Apple’s Vision framework, which runs entirely on your phone. The image is not sent to us or to anyone else for this.
Because your checks live in the app’s storage, they are included in any backup your phone makes, such as iCloud Backup or a backup to your Mac. Those backups are Apple’s, run under Apple’s terms, and we have no access to them.
What never leaves your phone
Your rooms, items, routines, checks, photos, videos and the times on them are stored only on your device. We don’t have a copy, and we can’t see them.
Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, under your Apple ID. Apple’s handling of your payment details is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. When you open the app, RevenueCat receives a random identifier for this install (not your name or Apple ID), your purchase and transaction details from Apple, your device model and iOS version, and your IP address. If you allowed tracking (see below), it also receives your device’s advertising identifier. RevenueCat’s handling of this is described in RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Ads and tracking
We find new people for DoubleCheck through ads, mostly on Meta platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. To know which ads work, we would like to match a subscription back to the ad that brought you here.
When you first use the app, iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you tap Allow, your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is passed to RevenueCat, which shares it with Meta together with your subscription events so Meta can attribute them to the ad. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, the identifier is never read and it is not shared with Meta.
Separately, Apple’s SKAdNetwork reports ad conversions to Meta in aggregate. That report contains no identifier, can’t be traced to you, and happens whether or not you allow tracking.
You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Analytics
DoubleCheck doesn’t collect usage analytics. We don’t record which screens you open, which items you have or how often you check. If you have opted in to sharing with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may show us aggregated App Store statistics and crash reports, which don’t identify you. If we ever add analytics, we will update this section and the effective date at the top before it takes effect.
Deleting your data
Delete the app and everything it stored is gone with it, including the photos and videos. There is nothing on our side to delete. Records of your subscription stay with Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies; if you would like RevenueCat’s record removed, email us and we will request it.
Children
DoubleCheck isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, or to have it deleted. Because nothing in DoubleCheck is tied to your identity, there is usually nothing for us to find, but ask and we will check with RevenueCat and get back to you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. We won’t quietly expand what we collect.
